I’m a developmental editor and a copyeditor; I help writers revise their work to make it stronger.
I stumbled on this skill when a friend needed help with her college admissions letter. I did a little editorial magic, and she was accepted into the creative writing program at University of San Francisco. That unfolded into me editing a woman’s YA manuscript, and then I ended up editing someone’s novel.
Eventually, I worked with other editors on a couple projects for Berrett-Koehler Publishers, including Full Voice and Being Buddha at Work. More recently, I was one of the developmental editors for the book Radical Dharma by Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Lama Rod Owens, and Dr. Jasmine Syedullah.
I have an MA and an MFA in creative writing (because one in-depth study of fiction is just not enough). I have many semesters worth of teaching college composition and creative writing. I’ve been a managing editor for an online journal. I’ve been a copywriter. And, of course, I’ve spent time working as a freelance copyeditor and as a developmental editor.
And I’d love to help you with your manuscript. Drop me a line and let me know what you need.
Here are a few things folks have said about my work.
